Texas Plus America Pageant Competition Categories

PRIVATE INTERVIEW

 

Each contestant participates in an individual interview with our panel of judges. There are typically 3-5 judges on a panel.


Interview Details:

Interview will begin with a self-introduction not to exceed 30 seconds. The body of the interview will be a combination of questions from information given on your fact sheet, current events and topics provided by the Executive Director. The interview concludes with a 30-second opportunity to make a final statement to the judges of “Why you’d like to be Miss Texas Plus America.” As well as any information you’d like the judges to know that wasn’t covered in the interview itself.


Interview Attire:  

The attire for the interview is dressy/business. You may wear a suit, a skirt/pants and blouse, or a dress.  When choosing attire, keep in mind you are interviewing for the position of Miss/Ms/Mrs Texas Plus America & ultimately the title of Miss/Ms/Mrs Plus America.


Scoring:  

Interview counts for 50% of the total score. The judges’ decision is final.



ELEGANT PANT WEAR


Elegant Pant Wear Competition Attire:

A pant suit or pant wear outfit that would be appropriate if attending a formal dinner with your pastor or members of the US Supreme Court. The idea for this outfit is to look elegant and classy. Evening pumps or formal sandals are required. (Heels must be worn unless an official doctor’s note is provided.)


Scoring:  

Elegant Pant Wear counts for 25% of the total score.



EVENING GOWN


Evening Gown Competition Attire:

All gowns must be floor length. (It may have a high-low hemline. Wear foundations. The color should contrast and compliment with your skin tone.)

Essay Competition is open to all registered delegates.  The winning essay will be published in the T

The Essay Competition is open to all registered delegates.  The winning essay will be published in the TPA Program Book.  Essay prompt will be randomly selected from social media entries.

The Covergirl Competition will be held through Facebook via online voting. Winner is featured on the back cover of the TPA Program Book. Headshot submission must include a Photographer's Release.

The Talent Competition is optional and does not affect the overall outcome of the pageant. All performances are limited to 0:02:00. All content is subject to approval by the Executive Director.

 The Spokesmodel Competition allows delegates to promote their current platform.  Performances are limited to 0:02:00. All content is subject to approval by the Executive Director.

The Fashion Runway Modeling Competition gives participants an opportunity to strut their stuff on the runway.  Outfit of choice provided is by participant and subject to approval by the Creative Director.

The Portfolio Competition requires a Portfolio submission of 5-7 photos.  Photos may be Color or B/W and must be bound.  All portfolios will be returned.  Portfolios are judged by a panel of industry professionals.

The Photogenic Competition requires a photo submission of 1 photo.  Photos may be Color or B/W.  All photos will not be returned.  Photos are judged by a panel of industry professionals.

The Community Service Award is presented to the delegate who's dedication to her community truly shines through her service.  Participants are required to submit a log of their verifiable community service hours.
